If 2011 was the year of the first person shooter with major titles like Battlefield and Modern Warfare adding new chapters to their highly-successful franchises, what’s in store for 2012?
This year gamers have a whole lot to look forward to with major releases expected in pretty much every month of the year and today. The Beezid Buzz will break down some of the ones that we’re most excited for in the next few months so that you don’t have to.
Fans of the Final Fantasy franchise are many and why wouldn’t they be? The games have been coming out for over 20 years and are showing no signs of slowing down. In fact, they look better than ever thanks to amazing advances in graphics technology and the game-play has never been as good as it is right now.

Also worth noting that they’ve been calling these games “Final” Fantasy since they started, which is the most deceptive marketing strategy since the film “The Neverending Story”. (Jan 31st)
The popular fighting franchise is back with its most complete chapter to date in Mortal Kombat Komplete Edition. The latest chapter in the MK saga gives you access to all your favorite classic characters in addition to 15 Klassic Skins and 3 Klassic Fatalities.

Take on the competition in classic 2-D one on one fighting mode or face numerous players at once in the innovative online King of the Hill mode. You’ll fall in love with all your favorite characters all over again in Mortal Kombat Komplete Edition! (March 2nd)
More role-playing action fun is at your disposal with Mass Effect 3 although with a completely different type of game than what’s in store in Final Fantasy XIII.

This game picks up where the events of Mass Effect 2 left off and features settings across the galaxy on Earth, Mars and other far away places. Many popular characters return and the all-new multiplayer modes unlock unlimited hours of fun playing against gamers from around the world for bragging rights and prestige! (March 6th)
It’s an annual event on gamers’ calendars whenever a new chapter in the Tiger Woods franchise is released and like the career of the most famous golfer in the world, this chapter looks to be back on track and gunning for the win.

This edition of the popular game will feature full Kinect motion capture support and voice support on Xbox 360. Combine these new features with five new golfers and five new courses and you’ve got a recipe for a fresh start for fans of golf! (March 30th)
This is just the tip of the iceberg for gamers looking to have fun on their favorite consoles in the weeks and months to come. All of the titles will be available on Beezid.
We here at Team Beezid can't decide which one we are most excited about, although there have been several votes for Mortal Kombat and Final Fantasy. What do you think? Let us know in the comments below!
