Eleven-year-old Tyler Sullivan of Minneapolis decided to skip asking his parents for an absence letter for school.
Why bother, when he could go directly to the Chief Executive…of the United States of America?
Some background: Tyler skipped school (with the permission of his parents, of course) to attend the President’s speech at his father’s workplace in Minneapolis. The fifth grader later got the chance to meet Obama, who was kind enough to write him an absence note--on presidential stationary, no less.

The note reads:
“Mr. Ackerman –
Please excuse Tyler…he was with me!
Barack Obama”
We think it’s safe to say young Tyler won’t get any detention for cutting class that day.
